The lab is proud to celebrate a double milestone for Dr. Olufunsho Falowo, who becomes the first PhD graduate of the research group and has been recognized with a Best Paper Award for MAIR: A Modular AI-Ready Framework for Scalable Incident Response and Autonomous Governance in Next-Decade Cybersecurity at IEEE 2026 6th Middle East and North Africa Communications Conference (MENACOMM).
Dr. Falowo completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Information Technology at the University of Cincinnati in April 2026, advised by Dr. Jacques Bou Abdo. His doctoral research argued for the need for flexible, AI-driven cybersecurity frameworks capable of withstanding constant disruption. Alongside his doctorate, he also earned a Master of Liberal Arts in Cybersecurity from Harvard University.
The committee for his successful defense included Prof. Murat Ozer, Prof. Chengcheng Li, and Prof. Jeongmin Oh, whose guidance the lab gratefully acknowledges.
As our first doctoral graduate, Dr. Falowo sets a strong precedent for the research that MIRAGe-UC aims to produce. The entire lab congratulates him on these achievements and looks forward to his continued contributions to cybersecurity research and practice.
