Dr. Dustin White
Dustin White is an Associate Professor of Economics at University of Nebraska at Omaha and serves as the Research Director of the Koraleski Commerce and Applied Behavioral Lab within the College of Business Administration. His research combines economics, behavioral science, analytics, and decision theory to better understand how individuals and organizations behave under uncertainty, competition, and information constraints.
Dr. White’s current work focuses on modeling economic and strategic behavior through a behavioral and data-driven lens. His research examines how people rely on heuristics and adaptive decision-making strategies in high-stakes, competitive, or low-information environments. His scholarly interests span behavioral economics, labor economics, industrial organization, sports economics, game theory, predictive analytics, and applied data science.
At the Koraleski CAB Lab, Dr. White leads interdisciplinary research using advanced behavioral and physiological measurement technologies including eye tracking, galvanic skin response sensors, facial expression analysis, virtual reality systems, and experimental analytics platforms. The lab supports innovative consumer and behavioral studies that bridge academic research with real-world business applications and community partnerships. The facility serves as a multidisciplinary research hub supporting faculty, students, nonprofits, and regional businesses through applied behavioral research and data-driven insights.
Dr. White’s research has explored diverse topics including workplace evaluations, strategic athlete behavior, forecasting models, remote work economics, organizational incentives, competition dynamics, and decision-making under stress. He is also actively engaged in research involving machine learning, statistical learning methods, and big data analytics applied to economics and public-sector challenges. His collaborative projects have included analytical and visualization work supporting national defense and strategic operations research initiatives.
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Washington State University and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brigham Young University.
